Web Search
Web search gives a specialist live results from the open web — headlines, pricing pages, documentation — without opening a full cloud browser session, making it the fast path for research, monitoring, and fact-checking.
What it lets a specialist do
- Run a search query and read back a set of results with sources.
- Pull recent news or announcements on a topic, company, or person.
- Compare a handful of pages' content side by side.
- Verify a fact and cite where the answer came from, so you can check it yourself.
Web search returns indexed results and page snippets quickly; it doesn't log in, click buttons, or fill out forms. For anything that requires interacting with a page, a specialist switches to the Cloud Browser instead.
How to enable it
Web search is a built-in capability, and Cloudia typically turns it on automatically for any specialist whose role involves research or monitoring.
- Open the specialist's settings and confirm Web Search is on.
- Ask a question directly in chat, or include a search step in a scheduled duty.
- Ask for citations or sources if you want to verify a claim yourself.
Examples
- "Find the 5 most recent articles about {topic} from the last week, with sources."
- "Who currently leads {company}? Cite where you found it."
- "Compare the pricing pages of three competitors to {product} and summarize the differences."
- "Every Monday morning, search for new mentions of our brand and put anything relevant in a workspace file."
Search results inside a duty
A scheduled duty can include a search step just like a one-off chat message — for example, a competitor-monitoring duty that searches for pricing changes each week and writes anything it finds into a workspace file, or a research duty that opens with a search pass before summarizing. Because search is fast compared to a full browser session, it's the default first step whenever a specialist just needs to know something rather than act on a page.
Limits, honestly
- Paywalled or login-gated content may not be fully readable through search alone — confirm access separately if it matters.
- Facts and prices drift over time; ask for recency when it's important.
- Search engines can rank outdated or low-quality pages — a specialist reading multiple sources and citing them gives you something to check.
- Search returns snippets and summaries, not a full rendered page — if you need to see exactly how a page looks or interact with it, use the Cloud Browser instead.
Plan minimum: web search is available from the Free plan; frequent, search-heavy duties draw down credits faster and fit more comfortably on Growth, Pro, or Max — see Pricing.
