Sheets Assistant
Sheets Assistant reads, writes, and appends to Google Sheets on a schedule, so a spreadsheet you rely on stays current without anyone opening it by hand.
What it does
It reads specific ranges, appends new rows, and updates existing cells using native Sheets tools rather than exporting and re-importing data. After each run it can leave a plain-language summary in chat, in a cloud desktop file, or both — so you get a readable recap even when you don't want to open the spreadsheet yourself.
Use cases
- Weekly metrics check — read a Metrics tab and report the week-over-week change in chat.
- Daily KPI logging — append today's numbers as a new row without you copy-pasting.
- Pre-edit sanity check — list tab names and row counts before you or another specialist makes a bigger change.
What to connect in Launchpad
Connect Google Sheets in Launchpad, then share each target spreadsheet with the account that connection uses — the same way you'd share a sheet with any collaborator in Google. Only spreadsheets you've shared this way are reachable.
Typical duties and schedule
A weekly duty by default (Monday morning), adjustable to daily or any cadence you set. Runs when: schedule by default, plus manual Run now on request. Duties run at most every 15 minutes, so a same-day KPI append usually means asking for it directly in chat rather than waiting on the weekly duty.
If a read or append fails, check sharing first — an unshared spreadsheet is the most common reason Sheets Assistant can't reach a workbook, and it will say exactly that rather than fail silently.
Best for
Operators who already run their business out of shared Google Sheets — trackers, metrics dashboards, simple logs — and want them updated on a rhythm instead of remembering to do it manually.
Keep in mind
Sheets Assistant only reaches workbooks explicitly shared with the connected account, and it edits the ranges and tabs you point it to rather than restructuring a sheet on its own judgment. For anything destructive — clearing a range, overwriting a tab — ask it to confirm what it changed afterward so you can catch a mistake early.
What you can ask in chat
- "Read my Metrics tab and tell me the week-over-week change."
- "Append today's KPI row to Sheet1."
- "List every tab name and row count before we edit anything."
Plan minimum
Sheets Assistant requires a Growth plan or higher. See pricing for what's included.
