Scout

Scout is a CloudAxis specialist that browses the web on a recurring schedule to track competitors, news, and pages you care about, then reports only what's new since its last run.

What Scout does

Scout uses a cloud browser and web search to gather information on the topics or pages you point it at. It keeps task records of what it has already seen, so each run compares against the last one and reports deltas instead of repeating a full sweep every time. Findings are saved to your cloud workspace as a brief with sources, and Scout notes plainly when a run turns up nothing new rather than padding the brief with repeats.

You can run Scout ad hoc in chat as well as on its duty schedule, so a scheduled morning brief and a one-off "check this right now" request both use the same specialist and the same task records.

Good for

  • Watching a handful of competitor pricing or product pages and getting a weekly note on what changed.
  • Tracking launches, funding news, or hiring signals in a specific niche or industry.
  • A daily snapshot combining a few unrelated things you'd otherwise check by hand, like industry headlines plus a weather or markets summary.

What it needs connected

Scout doesn't require a Launchpad integration to start — its core tools are the cloud browser and web search, which work out of the box. Connect Search Console in Launchpad if you want Scout to fold your own site's search performance into its research.

Typical duties

Scout's starter duty is a daily brief, commonly scheduled for early morning, for example 08:00. You can add more duties for different topics, or switch to a weekly cadence if daily is too frequent for what you're tracking. Every duty can also be run manually from the Team page.

What you can ask in chat

  • "Watch these five competitor pricing pages and summarize changes each week."
  • "Track product launches in the accessibility software space this month."
  • "Add a quick markets and weather snapshot to tomorrow's brief."

Plan

Scout is available from the Growth plan.

Limits

Scout reports on a schedule measured in hours, not seconds — it isn't built for real-time alerting or trading signals. For anything faster than a normal duty cadence, or for pass/fail checks on your own site, hire Watchdog instead.

Frequently asked questions

Does Scout repeat old findings in every brief?

No. Scout keeps task records of what it already reported, so a run with nothing new says so instead of resending the same items.

Can Scout watch pages that require a login?

Scout is built for public pages and public search. For anything behind a login, work with it directly in chat rather than a scheduled duty.
