Three things matter this week: Growth Assistant leads the Free specialist catalog and onboarding carousel, hiring her no longer fails silently when your two duty slots are already spoken for, and watching an agent browse from your phone finally feels like steering a cursor instead of finger-painting on a laggy screencast.
Growth Assistant is the everyday specialist on Free
Before this week, the first specialist card in onboarding still pushed email-first workflows — useful if you lived in Gmail, less useful if your Monday problem was "who is talking about our category but not us yet." Free users also had to dig past generic copy to find a growth hire that matched how agencies actually prospect: public signals, structured records, human approval on every send.
Growth Assistant now leads the hire catalog and the Free onboarding carousel. Open Agents → Add specialist (or finish signup) and she is the first card: "Add Growth Assistant." She deploys as template finder — a specialist that learns your product from a URL, pasted brief, or files under ~/files/finder/inbox/, connects to Email (and optionally Search Console), then runs weekday duties that find buyers and mention-gaps and park each outbound behind your YES. At most a two-step email sequence; nothing sends without you.
Why this fits the CloudAxis model: agents are employees on a persistent cloud computer, not chat threads. Growth Assistant writes tamper-proof records, remembers the confirmed brief in her Remember tab, and schedules duties the same way Research or Social specialists do. Cloudia can still build a custom team — but Free now ships with a credible "hire someone who hunts pipeline while you sleep" path. We wrote about stacking specialists in our team-inside-the-OS guide.
On Free you only get two scheduled-job slots. Cloudia already holds your weekly review on one of them. When you hired Growth Assistant before September 20, the backend sometimes tried to attach both her morning scan and evening reconcile — and the hire failed with vague "Cloudia is down" copy instead of the real cap error. Hire now trims overlay duties to whatever slots remain: you keep the morning scan, see an explicit warning that the evening reconcile waits until you upgrade or delete a job, and the UI shows the actual hire error if something else blocks deploy.
What comes next: we are watching how many Free accounts activate Growth Assistant versus Inbox or Calendar starters, and whether the morning-only duty is enough to prove value before Growth at $29/month.

Smaller changes that landed since the September 11 home-screen release:
- Fullscreen phone trackpad for Browser. Browserbase Live View is a mouse screencast — dragging your finger across the page was laggy and hid the target. On phone, fullscreen coarse-pointer mode now uses a side trackpad and a local CSS cursor; clicks still ride the existing live-input WebSocket. Desktop mouse, PiP, and the on-screen keyboard stay on the previous path. Details in our browser-without-API-keys explainer.
- Credit metering matches upstream costs. Vendor model prices moved up, so billed Auto Mode usage now applies
CREDIT_USAGE_SCALE(default 2): the same token volume costs roughly twice the credits it did in early September. Monthly plan allowances are unchanged — your cap is still your cap — and fixed-task tools (code exec, image/video gen, social post) stay at 1× so task pricing stays exact. See predictable caps and model costs. - GitHub lives under Apps → GitHub. Connect, clone, and pull moved out of Files. CloudAxis GitHub OAuth repos and Coding GitHub App repos no longer share the same list — each product sees only its own repos, so a specialist cannot accidentally open a Coding session against your marketing clone.
- Live updates survive deploys. Every server deploy had been killing the live event stream in every open tab. Reconnect logic now keeps chat progress, duty status, and browser PiP subscriptions alive across rolling restarts instead of forcing a blind refresh.
What's next
We are measuring Growth Assistant activation on Free — especially morning-scan-only hires — and tuning the warning copy when cron slots are full so you always know which duty to add manually after upgrade.
